#SeedlingSelfie So much potential for GROWTH!
A seed is a symbol of life's potential. It requires nourishment, time, and direction to flourish.
At the VIU Tech Expo on March 14th, 2016, visitors to our booth will have the opportunity to plant their own organic pea seed in a re-purposed egg carton container.
Is it worth it?
The seed we present to you is a symbol for your own growth, and commitment. Everyone is constantly evolving and changing in life's journey. Think about the direction in which you will grow over the next 75 days. If you nurture a goal with proper care and attention, the rewards can be huge!
Each person takes a photo with their seed, and posts to social media with #VIUEDEXPO #SEEDLINGSELFIE #VESTAEDUCATION
Continue to post photos as your pea grows, and be entered to WIN a beautiful pewter necklace from Metal Ice Designs!
Students are encouraged to check back in June to see the winner!
Care and Info:
The seed should sit in a window and be kept moist.
These untreated, non-GMO seeds prefer cooler weather and can be planted outside as early as April.
This heirloom variety of pea dates back to 1871 and is also known at the Tall Telephone. It can grow as high as 2.5 metres and will need something to climb.
When transplanted, they should go into well drained soil at a depth of 3-5 cm. The plant can grow huge impressive pods with 8 or 9 peas in each.
Some people could be eating these by the end of May.
Flavour is exceptional. (www.westocastseeds.com)
